2025年6月15日（日）、大阪・関西万博にて、 国連パビリオンと吉本興業株式会社がタッグを組んだ大規模イベント「 Walk the Talk for SDGs in EXPO2025 UN&YOSHIMOTO」が開催されます。万博会場内では、持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）に関連したさまざまなイベントが展開される中、国際連合食糧農業機関（FAO）駐日連絡事務所の日比絵里子所長は、２つのイベントに登壇し、吉本芸人と共演します。そして、「FAOは、飢餓のない世界を目指して活動している国連の専門機関です。『ちょっと難しそう』と思われがちなテーマですが、吉本の芸人の皆様と一緒に、私たちの活動を楽しく、そして身近に感じていただけるようご紹介したいと思います！」と、イベントへの意気込みを語りました。

一つ目のイベントでは、吉本芸人タチマチとともに、現在国連パビリオンで開催中の特別展示、「 SDGs目標２『飢餓をゼロに』を共に目指して」を、ツアー形式でご紹介します。二つ目のイベントでは、MCに吉本芸人の銀シャリを迎え、国連職員の仕事に迫るトークセッションを実施します。

■FAO登壇イベントの詳細

（１）タチマチの国連パビリオンツアー

国連パビリオンの展示を、タチマチがツアー形式で解説。
親しみやすいガイドで、国連の取り組みを学ぶことができます。

■大阪・関西万博／国連パビリオンについて

4月13日から10月13日まで開催され、約2,800万人の来場が予想されています。「United for a Better Future: 人類は団結したとき最も強くなる。」をテーマに、国連パビリオンは午前9時30分から午後9時まで毎日開館しています。

■国連パビリオン特別展示：SDGs目標２「飢餓をゼロに」を共に目指して

「誰一人取り残さない」農業・食料システムは、食料安全保障、持続可能な農業、学校給食を通じた栄養改善などを促進します。ローマに本部を置く国連の３機関、国際連合食糧農業機関（FAO）、国連世界食糧計画（WFP）、国際農業開発基金（IFAD）が共同でその取組を紹介します。

■国際連合食糧農業機関（FAO）について

FAOは飢餓を撲滅するための国際的な取り組みを主導する国連の専門機関です。FAOの目的は、人々が健全で活発な生活を送るために十分な量・質の食料への定期的アクセスを確保し、すべての人々の食料安全保障を達成することです。FAOには194カ国と欧州連合（EU）の195のメンバーが加盟しており、世界130カ国以上で活動しています。FAO駐日連絡事務所は、1997年に横浜市の横浜国際協力センター（パシフィコ横浜）内に開設されました。

■日比絵里子（FAO駐日連絡事務所長）略歴

上智大学法学部で法学士、英国レディング大学大学院および米ワシントンDCジョンズホプキンズ大学大学院SAISで国際関係学修士号を取得。国連人口基金（UNFPA）を経て、2011年にFAO入職。ローマ本部戦略企画室のシニア・オフィサーとして2年勤務した後、2013年からは紛争下のシリア事務所の所長、また2016年からはサモア独立国からFAO大洋州事務所長を務め、2020年9月より現職。約30年にわたり国連での経験を有します。

FAO Teams Up with Yoshimoto Comedians at the UN Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai

Join us for a fun-filled tour to the SDG Goal 2 exhibit and a talk session introducing work at the United Nations!

On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the UN Pavilion and Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. will co-host a major event at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai titled “ Walk the Talk for SDGs in EXPO2025 UN & YOSHIMOTO.” A variety of SDG-related events will be held across the Expo site throughout the day. Eriko Hibi, Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Liaison Office in Japan, will take the stage with Yoshimoto comedians in two sessions.

“FAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that works to end world hunger," said Ms. Hibi. “Although this may sound like a difficult or distant topic, I hope to explain the work of FAO and the UN, in an easy-to-understand and enjoyable way, together with the Yoshimoto Comedians.” 

At the first event, together with Yoshimoto comedian Tachimachi, visitors will join a tour of the special exhibition currently on display at the UN Pavilion, titled “ Together for SDG2 – Zero Hunger”. The second event will be a talk session, moderated by Yoshimoto comedian Ginshari, delving into the daily work of UN staff.

Yoshimoto comedian Tachimachi will guide you through the exhibits in the UN Pavilion in a tour format. The friendly guide will help you learn more about the UN's activities in a fun and in-depth way.

■Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai / UN Pavilion

The Expo will be held from 13 April to 13 October and is expected to attract over 28 million visitors. Under the theme “United for a Better Future”, the UN Pavilion will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

■Special Exhibit: Together for SDG Goal 2 -Zero Hunger

Together, three United Nations Rome-based Agencies (RBAs), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP) offer an exhibition related to inclusive agrifood systems that promote food security, sustainable agriculture, and improved nutrition, including through school meals.

■Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

FAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. FAO’s goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. With 195 members - 194 countries and the European Union, FAO works in over 130 countries worldwide. FAO Liaison Office in Japan was established in 1997 within Yokohama International Cooperation Centre (Pacifico Yokohama) in Yokohama City.

■Eriko Hibi, Director of FAO Liaison Office in Japan

Ms. Hibi holds a Bachelor of Laws from Sophia University, Japan, and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom; and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, USA. After working for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), she joined FAO in 2011. After two years as a Senior Officer in the Office of Strategy, Planning and Resources Management, she served as the FAO Representative in conflict affected Syria since 2013, and as Subregional Coordinator for the Pacific Islands in Samoa since 2016. She has been in her current position since September 2020. She has nearly 30 years of professional experience with the United Nations.
