The landmark COP 23 decision Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) recognized and increased the role of agriculture to tackle climate change and achieve the ambitious goals of the Paris Agreement. Four years later, after six in-session workshops and two intersessional workshops, Parties are expected to report on KJWA outcomes and advise the Conference of Parties (COP) on how to move forward.
A panel discussion will provide an opportunity for countries and non-state actors involved in the KJWA negotiation process, to share their views on how to move the landmark agriculture decision from in-session workshops to implementation of practical actions. The event will provide a space for experts from developing and developed countries involved in negotiations of KJWA to share their lessons-learned and views for future agriculture-related activities under the Convention. Targeted constituencies will also reflect a diversity of views and ensure that challenges and good practices are discussed.
