Updated country summary statistics now available in AQUASTAT website
AQUASTAT, FAO's Global Information System on Water and Agriculture, has launched a new set of updated country summary statistics sheets, also known as country factsheets, providing a concise overview of water resources availability, use, and irrigation area for each country.
These one-page documents present the most recent data, collected last year through AQUASTAT’s questionnaires, and also integrates Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators 6.4.1 (water-use efficiency) and 6.4.2 (water stress), helping users track progress toward global water sustainability targets.
The fact sheets are available in English, French, and Spanish. Users can access them directly through the AQUASTAT country profiles page by selecting a country and clicking on “Summary Statistics”: www.fao.org/aquastat/en/countries-and-basins/country-profiles
AQUASTAT provides free access to global, regional and country data on water resources availability, use and agricultural water management. AQUASTAT collects data annually through a network of national correspondents. Its goal is to support agricultural and rural development by providing reliable, standardized and comparable data to inform evidence‑based policies and actions.
