The new WASAG website is now live!

We are excited to announce the launch of the newly updated website for the Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG)!

Over the past nine years, WASAG has grown significantly in visibility and impact, thanks to its diverse activities as well as the commitment of Member States and strong partnerships. WASAG's growth responds to an urgent need for collaborative actions to tackle water scarcity in agriculture. The redesign of the WASAG website offers a more modern, user-friendly experience to reflect shared progress.

In today’s fast-paced digital environment where timely access to reliable knowledge is key to addressing climate change and water-related challenges, the new website ensures compatibility across mobile devices and provides accurate, up-to-date information.

In addition to reflecting the new mechanisms WASAG adopted during the High-Level Rome Water Dialogue on WASAG in 2024, the revamped site includes a new section dedicated to the Value Adding Impact Areas (VAIA), Addressing Water Scarcity in Agriculture and the Environment (AWSAMe), which offers deeper insight into WASAG’s contributions and results, aligned with the FAO Strategic Framework 2022–2031.

The new platform also introduces a clearer, more intuitive content structure which highlights WASAG’s working groups, new taskforces, collaborative efforts, related resources and events.

WASAG's work supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by advancing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. It fosters collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange among countries and stakeholders to tackle the collective challenge of turning water scarcity into an opportunity for building resilient agrifood systems for the food security and nutrition of all.
