Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP)

The Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP) partnership is a multi-stakeholder initiative supported by FAO to produce methods and metrics for the assessment of environmental performances in livestock supply chains. Governments, private sector and NGOs are working with FAO to produce guidelines and references on how to calculate impacts and use of natural resources. The partnership has released guidelines on GHG emissions and biodiversity and will soon release guidelines on water use in livestock supply chains, first for public review and then for users to apply.
