Development of National Framework for Integrated Drought Risk Management (DRM) in Iraq

The project proposed to work together with the mandated GoI institutions and national committees for drought, desertification and sandstorms and enhance a common approach, in recognition of the inter relation between these events, and requirement to enhance a coordinated approach and strategy. Some focused training sessions were organized for GoI participating UN agency staff to develop an improved understanding on the drought and sandstorm, its monitoring and management.
