Emergency assistance to vulnerable populations that reported losses in their livelihoods due to drought in the Chaco region and Cochabamba

The objective of the project was to avoid further deterioration of livelihoods among small and subsistence farmers by supporting the continuity of agricultural cycle and ensuring livestock survival (cattle, small ruminants and other small species) belonging to the most vulnerable families in the affected regions. The project considered two main groups of assistance: livestock and agriculture assistance under four groups of activities (i) distribution of certificated corn and beans seeds in the Chaco and potato seeds in Cochabamba (ii) technical assistance and dissemination of good agricultural practices during the sowing season (iii) cattle rehabilitation through fodder distribution and rehydration with mineral salts vitamins and animal health campaigns (iv) provision of stored water for animal use.
