Pastoralist Knowledge Hub

Pastoralists suffer from the limited knowledge available about their production systems, their links with natural resources, their institutions and their societies. They are also often excluded from policy and science fora. The Pastoralist Knowledge Hub is an initiative supported by FAO bringing together pastoralists and the main actors working with them to join forces and create the synergies for dialogue and pastoralist development. The Hub relies on 3 pillars: a knowledge repository, a network of pastoralist organizations and the facilitation of partnerships with science, governments, NGO’s and international organizations.

By facilitating access to knowledge about traditional use of land and resources, their institutional drivers and the constraints pastoralist are facing, but also by supporting links with pastoral organizations, the Hub is key to support impact assessments in pastoral areas.
