The conference is designed to bring together representatives of international organizations, government agencies and universities in Russia and the (Commonwealth of Independent States) CIS countries to discuss initiatives and share best practices in the formation of the legislative environment and the development of the cooperative sector in Russia and other CIS countries. The conference will present preliminary results of a study of cooperative laws in Russia and the CIS countries, conducted by the Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law, commissioned by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Thematic sessions of the conference:

1. The role of the cooperative sector in ensuring food security and achieving SDGs
2. Current state of legislation on cooperatives in Russia and other CIS countries. International experience of legal regulation of cooperatives
3. Reflection in the legislation of various countries the recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), cooperative values ​​and principles of the ICA.
