LEGN, FIAF and EAF-Nansen Programme holds EAF Mock Training on Zoom

A virtual mock training on the Practical Guide on Legislating for an Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF) was held as part of the collaboration between the Development Law Service (LEGN) of FAO’s Legal Office, the Marine and Inland Fisheries Branch of FAO (FIAF) and the EAF-Nansen Programme. This training was delivered to test the working version of the Practical Guide among FAO colleagues and to collect feedback on how to improve it and related training materials that will be part of the future course curricula for regional and country workshops. The Practical Guide is an important tool which complements the How-to Guide on Legislating for an EAF, by providing an EAF legal checklist, which legal practitioners, policy-makers and fisheries managers can use for assessing the alignment of a country’s relevant legal and policy framework with an EAF.
