Markets and Trade

FAO supports the deliberations of the Group of 7 (G7) and the Group of 20 (G20) with evidence-based policy advice, technical inputs, thematic reports and proposals for concrete actions that lead to the provision of global public goods in the area of food security and sustainable agriculture. The countries brought together in these groups are key players in the food and agriculture sector, making these meetings important venues for policy dialogue and coordinated action. The G20 has launched a number of initiatives to address knowledge gaps in food and agriculture, such as the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS), the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP), and the Technical Platform on the Measurement and Reduction of Food Loss and Waste.
