DescriptionFederal courts are considering cases linking the use of glyphosate, a herbicide widely employed for soybeans and other crops, to human health issues.
NotesIn July, a federal judge ruled that lawsuits linking glyphosate use to cancer could proceed to trial. Separately, in August, a federal court awarded USD 289 million to a man who claimed that his cancer was caused by prolonged contact with glyphosate. According to the ruling, the herbicides producer failed to warn users about the cancer risks posed by the product.
