DescriptionEnded import restrictions on sunflower oil from Ukraine

NotesEUROPEAN UNION – import restriction: The EU decided to end all import restrictions on sunflower oil from Ukraine. The measure – in the form of a strict testing and certification scheme – was imposed back in 2008, following the discovery of consignments contaminated with paraffin. As tests carried out at EU borders revealed no further contamination, the testing regime started to be gradually relaxed from 2009 onward.
