NotesThe USD 1 per gallon tax credit traditionally accorded to biodiesel blenders expired back in December 2017 (see MPPU Mar.’18). In this regard, the Lower House is currently reviewing a proposal for a long-term extension of the incentive. Over the past five years, Congress allowed the tax incentive to expire, eventually granting retroactive one-year extensions. Industry representatives long advocated for a multi-year renewal to provide certainty and predictability for producers and feedstock suppliers.
