There is a need to amend the Law on Organic Food, which was approved in 2016 due to climate change and the modernization of agricultural food production technologies around the world, and the growing consumption of organic food among the population. Hence, SDC funded “Mongol Nogoo” project implemented by FAO Mongolia in collaboration with MoFALI and Parliament member Ch.Undram, T.Enkhtuvshin and T.Aubakir’s office organized Stakeholders’ meeting to Strengthen the legal framework of organic food and agriculture” on 08.06.2022 in Suhbaatar, Selenge aimag. In the meeting participated representatives-organic farmers from 9 soums of Selenge aimag and local authorities, Mr. Lkhagvadorj, Governor of Selenge aimag, Head of agriculture department of Selenge aimag and Parliament member Ch.Undram (initiator of the activity) and discussed and exchanged their opinions on challenges and opportunities that face during the running organic food production, trade, services, import, export and certification activities within the current legal framework of organic food and agriculture.
