3rd World Biodiversity Forum

Un­der the theme "From Sci­ence to Ac­tion", the third World Bio­di­ver­si­ty Fo­rum (WBF) will bring to­geth­er re­searchers across all disc­iplines of bio­di­ver­si­ty sci­ence with prac­ti­tion­ers and so­ci­etal ac­tors to ex­plore how to move from sci­ence to ac­tions and so­lu­tions to con­serve bio­di­ver­si­ty and forge a path to­wards trans­for­ma­tion for sus­tain­abil­i­ty.

The Kunming-Montréal Global Biodiversity Framework calls for a whole-of-society approach for urgent and transformative change, contributing to the Final Decade of Action to achieve the SDGs. The WBF 2024 responds to the call for urgent and transformative action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by making connections across available knowledge sources and identifying opportunities and synergies but also trade-offs that can inform policies and actions. It will further develop narratives, pathways and visions of sustainable futures and highlight avenues to achieve change.

WBF will be held as an in-person event from 17 to 20 June 2024 at the Congress Centre in Davos, Switzerland. The Forum will be preceded by a day of workshops, training sessions and networking meetings on 16 June 2024 and followed by excursions in the beautiful surroundings of Davos and its mountains on Friday, 21 June 2024.
