Workshop: The Impact of Retreating Glaciers in the Andes - Multidisciplinary International Network for Adaptation Strategies

The workshop, organized by the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme of UNESCO, with the support of the Mountain Partnership Secretariat at FAO, the Consortium for Sustainable Development of the Andean Ecoregion (CONDESAN), the Andean Climate Change Interamerican Observatory Network (ACCION), the Working Group on Snow and Ice (GTNH-PHI) and the Third Pole Environment (TPE), will be held from 29 to 30 May 2012, in Lima, Peru. The seminar, which aims to make recommendations for public actors and decision makers, will also identify research needs to address climate change and reduce uncertainty through the adjustment of global climate change scenarios at the Andean regional level as well as water availability and demand scenarios for the region.
