Environmental and socio-economic security as a factor for sustainable mountain development

The Academic Consortium "International University of Kyrgyzstan", jointly with the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the support of “Kumtor Gold Company” CJSC, will host the international scientific and practical conference "Environmental and socio-economic security as a factor for sustainable mountain development".

The conference is dedicated to the outcomes and perspectives of the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development 2022 and encouraged by initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov.

The purpose of proclamation of "International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development" is to attract attention to the problems and challenges of conserving fragile mountain ecosystems and to raise awareness of the importance of mountains for sustainable development.

The conference aims to present and discuss research materials and projects devoted to the study of socioeconomic problems of mountainous countries, in line with conceptual, global approaches and specific practical solutions to the problems, considering global threats and challenges for sustainable mountain development.

The objective of the conference is to exchange best practices, scientific and technical information and adopt a resolution aimed at sustainable development of mountain regions.

The conference will be held at the conference venues of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and International University of Kyrgyzstan.
