Gram Disha Trust (GDT) is a registered charitable trust supporting agroecology and smallholders across India, with a strong focus on Himachal Pradesh. It works with farmers, craftspersons, forest communities and pastoralists to promote sustainable development in mountain regions. Founded by trustees with over a decade of experience working with smallholders across the Himalayas, GDT focuses on capacity building, access to technology, market linkages, fundraising and ongoing support for local communities. GDT ensures development is village-led and community-owned, gradually building systems where brand and corporate equity remain with village clusters, enabling them to connect to markets and operate independently. The Trust also integrates modern methods, planting materials and technologies while upholding ecological, economic and social sustainability.
