Legally registered as an NGO in 1991, the Rural Self-Help Development Association (RSDA) enhances the livelihoods and climate resilience of mountain communities, Basotho, in Lesotho, the “Mountain Kingdom”. By helping them to help themselves and working collaboratively and in partnership with other stakeholders, the RSDA aims to eradicate extreme hunger and improve the lives of rural Basotho by supporting sustainable agriculture, facilitating self-help and enabling rural communities to become sustainable. Productive relations with mountain people is the cornerstone and core of RSDA’s work. Their programmes focus on linking social protection with agriculture, building evidence on climate-smart agriculture and agro-ecology, agriculture and natural products, empowering peoples' organizations and facilitating engagement with government and the private sector. |
