Technologies for Economic Development (TED) is a Lesotho-based non-governmental organization (NGO) working for the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) guided by national policies and strategies. TED focuses on capacity development. In particular, by focusing on rural people, it supports sustainable development through environmental protection. TED works on the following fields: 1) energy - by promoting renewable energy such as biogas technology, solar energy for rural areas that are not served with grid electricity and energy efficiency; 2) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) - in which TED implements projects on behalf of the government and other organizations that improve the health of mountain people; 3) Biodiversity Conservation - where TED provides environmental education on the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems. |
