The University for International Cooperation hosts the Latin America School of Protected Areas (ELAP), which has gained valuable expertise and knowledge on a diversity ecosystems, including mountain ecosystems. Even though its main focus is Central America, its reach includes countries in South America and the Caribbean. The approach taken by the Faculty of Environment and Development is one that integrates conservation, protection and sustainable development. This framework has facilitated the establishment of a Central American Regional Working on Mountain Ecosystem. |
