Flor de Leche

Flor de Leche is an eco-social productive organization that purchases milk from around 180 small producers to make fresh and aged cheese and yogurts. Profit is not its sole purpose of this eco-social company. Eco stands for ecologic and economic, as Flor de Leche seeks balance and harmony with the environment and sustaining its new social projects. These include educational, cultural and other activities to promote local development.
Eco-social businesses have no legal recognition in Bolivia, so the firm is registered as a limited liability company. The internal organization of Flor de Leche centres on joint decision-making processes to make its structure more horizontal.
Flor de Leche seeks to develop a model of organization that combines profitability and social sustainability, supporting local milk producer cooperatives and transferring knowledge about eco-social businesses.
