Virunga Wildlife Clubs

Virunga Wildlife Clubs is a non-governmental organization created in 2001 with the support of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund (Europe). The organization is dedicated to promoting wildlife conservation, climate change issues, sustainable economic development through the participation of the community, including youth. The organization aims to use community’s perspectives as a tool to promote sustainable mountain development in the Virunga Region. The organization promotes conservation in northern and western Rwandan ecosystems and hopes to expand conservation activities in the rest of the Virunga region in Uganda and Eastern RDC. It also has an education and communication program which includes field trips, competitions, and environment campaign activities, as well as initiatives that promote ecotourism and tree planting.
