Institute of Research and Development for Mountain Regions of the Mediterranean Islands

The Institute of Research and Development for Mountain Regions of the Mediterranean Islands (MountMed Institute) was founded to contribute to revitalizing the mountain regions of the Mediterranean and its islands and more specifically of Cyprus, as well as to reinforce their sustainable development. The MountMed Institute aims to promote research, innovation and experimentation regarding the environment, economy, society, demographics and culture related to the mountain regions of the Mediterranean. It also aims to provide scientific and technical coordination, as well as support for local, national and international plans and programmes related to sustainable rural development for island mountain regions.
