University of Tuscia - Department Biological AgroFood and Forest Systems (DIBAF)

The University of Tuscia’s Department for Innovation in Biological, Agro-food and Forest systems (DIBAF) is a multidisciplinary research and education laboratory for scientific and technological innovation, with special attention to environmental sustainability. DIBAF combines and integrates various disciplines and complementary approaches, from basic knowledge of chemistry and biology to those typical of agrifood, animal, industrial and environmental biotechnologies that support the sustainable management of biological, agrifood and forest systems. For these reasons DIBAF works as a laboratory of knowledge and innovation capable of developing coherent and comprehensive ways to cope with global challenges. DIBAF offers and manages bachelor and master degree courses, as well as PhD curricula where the transfer of knowledge and innovation developed during research activities play a central role. The Department includes four sections: biological and chemical systems for the environment; environment and management of agricultural and forestry resources; agrifood science and technology; and landscape and cultural Heritage.
