Hashoo Foundation

Hashoo Foundation (HF) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that was established in 1988. The organization works on three main areas: 1) Economic Development 2) Social Protection 3) Environment & Climate Change. HF has been working for over two decades with disadvantaged communitiess across Pakistan. The mountain regions where HF operates are highly fragile in terms of ecology and natural biodiversity.

In recent years, the growing trend of natural disasters, particularly flash floods and glacial lake outburst flow (GLOF) have wreaked havoc in terms of losses of precious life, valuable properties and infrastructure. This phenomenon adds to the suffering of mountain communities who are particularly vulnerable in northern Pakistan.

HF is devoted to strengthen the socio-economic conditions of these communities through entrepreneurship development initiatives all while taking into account the environment and its rich biodiversity.

HF envisions an ethical, equitable, inclusive and progressive society in which people live with dignity and are empowered to establish their own lives with freedom by granting everyone equal opportunities.
