Conference on Sustainable Land Use and Rural Development in Mountain Areas - Stuttgart, Germany, 16-18 April 2012

A Conference on Sustainable Land Use and Rural Development in Mountain Areas will take place from 16 to 18 April 2012 at the Hohenheim University in Stuttgart, Germany. The conference is organized by the Uplands Program, with funds from the German Research Foundation. The conference will focus on a number of themes related to sustainable land use and rural development: soil care in mountain landscapes; supplying, using, sharing and cycling of matter and water; linking highland farmers to modern food chains; land use and land cover change; sustainable and competitive livestock systems; people participation in natural resource management. Scientists, government officers, development practitioners and graduate and post-graduate students are encouraged to register by 15 February 2012.
