FAORNE Dialogues on Trade (DOT) - Trade as an Enabler for Food Security: Pathways for NENA Region


The FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa is initiating the FAORNE Dialogues on Trade (DOT) series.

Simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, English and French will be provided.

Objectives of the Dialogue

The dialogue would provide a platform for:

i)                   Highlighting the importance of trade for transforming agri-food systems, in general, and enhancing food security and nutrition, in particular.

ii)                Outlining major issues and pathways for enhancing NENA region’s participation in international trade in food and agriculture and increasing the intra-regional trade

iii)              Shaping up a regional perspective on WTO negotiations on agriculture trade and fisheries subsidies, particularly in the context of forthcoming WTO Ministerial Conference.
