The REFCOFI/FIRMS Regional Workshop on Resources and Fisheries Inventory and RECOFI Workshop on Minimum Data Collection and Reporting

The Regional Workshop is being convened as follow up to the Fourth Meeting of the RECOFI Working Group on Fisheries Management (Muscat, Oman 3-5 October 2010) and to the recent Sixth Session of RECOFI (Rome, Italy, 10-12 May 2011). 

The workshop will consist of a RECOFI component on Statistical Data Collection and a FRIMS/RECOFI component focused on the Resources and Fisheries inventory for a total duration of five days.

The RECOFI/FIRMS workshop on Resources and Fisheries Inventory aims at formalizing an inventory of Marine resources/stocks and Fisheries across the whole RECOFI area, (at a regional and national scale) and for its Fishery Resources Monitoring System.

The inventory will be used as the backbone for regular reporting framework and approaches established by FIRMS.
