KariaNet Devolution Face-to-Face Meeting

The overall objective of the devolution study is to develop the best-fit scenarion and plan possibleto ensure the sustainability of a regional knowledge management and knowledge sharing network of Rural Development practioners, institutions and programmes. Emphasis is on financial and institutional sustainability to promote Karianet’s aim of support to small-scale agriculture, food security and poverty alleviation in the rural areas of in 10 Arab countries. 

The objectives of the meeting:

1. To share knowledge between experts on regional and international experiences in network sustainability
2. To build on the shared learning to adapt and finalize the methodology of the devolution study
3. To set the plan for data collection and case studies analysis
4. To elaborate a workplan and milestones for the study

Expected outputs:

1. Shared learning on networks ‘functioning`, push factors and drawbacks and hindering factors
2. The design and methodology of the devolution study presented, fine-tuned and validated
3. The work plan and timeline set and ways of validation and dissemination of the study findings identified
