FAO?s Consultation Meeting on Small-Scale Dairy Sector Development for the Near East Countries

FAO’s Multi-Disciplinary Team for Oriental Near East (SNO), is organizing an Expert Consultation Meeting on Small-Dairy Sector Development for the SNO Countries.

About 20-25 consulting experts will attend the meeting from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. FAO’s technical officers from headquarters, regional and sub-regional offices, along with interested FAO-Representative in member countries of the sub-region will attend the meeting.

FAO-SNO’s meeting will focus on jointly assessing the sub-regional capacity in small-scale dairy and reviewing the country reports for preparing national strategies to strengthen the sector and dairy producers associations. The meeting will identify priorities and recommendations to develop the small-scale dairy sector through sub-regional/national projects in support of food security, nutrition and poverty alleviation.
