Expert Consultation Meeting on ?Regional Agro-Industries Development?
The Regional Office for the Near East of the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations will organize an Expert Consultation Meeting on “Regional Agro-Industries Development” at 9:00 a.m. on 6 – 7  December 2009 at FAO/RNE premises (11, El-Eslah El-Zerai Street, Dokki).

The consultation meeting will be attended by representatives from six FAO Member Countries in the Near East and North Africa: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria and Syria in addition to FAO Experts from FAO/RNE Cairo and FAO Headquarters Rome.

The main objectives of the meeting are to seek better ways of providing technical assistance within the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors from farm to consumer. As part of the strategic planning into the next period, FAO is seeking to focus attention on the potential for boosting agricultural productivity with investment in agro-industries. FAO is seeking to highlight the opportunities available, and to become a reliable partner in the technical, financial and socio-economic planning required that FAO member countries will be able to plan and invest with confidence.
