Education, skills and employment conference
As part of its objective to develop further relations between Egypt and the UK, the BRITISH EGYPTIAN SOCIETY (BES) is convening a two day conference to share the experience of the countries in education and training and to develop initiatives for future collaborative projects. The conference will reflect the wide range of opinions on education and training policies opened up by recent political changes in Egypt. It will engage the new Egyptian government and those influencing education development, as well as UK government and academic bodies leading education reform in Britain and business and industry in both countries.

The BES is working with partners in the UK, the Institute of Education at the University of London and the SOAS, the University of London, Pembroke College Oxford University, and in Egypt with the Institute of Educational Studies at Cairo University, the Ministries?of Education and Higher Education, the British Council, and the British Egyptian Business Association. The British Embassy in Cairo, the Egyptian British Business Council in London, and employers in both countries are actively supporting the preparation and execution of the conference.

The main focus will be on the way in which the education systems deliver: 1. Teacher Education; 2. Education and Training for Employability, and; 3. Education Policy Development, Management, and Delivery.

The conference will take place on 18 and 19 September at the Cairo University Conference Centre and admission will be free.
