THE 2nd WORKSHOP ?Public Engagement in Water Management?

The Jordanian capital Amman hosted the Second Phase Launching Workshop pertaining to the “Public Engagement in Water Management” Project during the period March 9 - 10, 2011. Prof. Dr. / Safwat Abdel Dayem, AWC Secretary-General and Project Supervisor, Prof.

Dr. / Aly El-Bahrawy, Project Consultant, and Ms. / Dalia Al-Saiid, Project Coordinator, attended the workshop on behalf of the Arab Water Council. Prof. Dr. Safwat Abdel Dayem presented the project goal and objectives as related to improving water governance through responsibility, participation, transparency, accountability and rights. 

Dr. Abdel-Dayem added that the project will develop mechanisms to promote dialogue, follow-up and monitoring of the community parties in a manner that would lead to the formulation of sound policies and enhancement of successful practices to improve the efficiency of water use and conservation.
