Field Diagnosis of Trans-boundary Livestock Diseases

15/04/2014-15/04/2014

Since the collapse of animal health services in Syria in 2012, cross-border movements of unvaccinated livestock has been increasing, putting at stake the health and safety of the Lebanese livestock and its people.

In light of the high risk of an outbreak of livestock disease and infection FAO organised a workshop to strengthen public and private Lebanese veterinary services capacities in disease diagnosis, to preserve livestock assets and to reduce the threat of Transboundary Animal Diseases.

The workshop benefited veterinary services and service extension of the Lebanese government.
