The first Ministerial meeting of the Iraq Agricultural Growth and Employment Generation Support program (I-AGES) was jointly convened by the Government of Iraq Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (F AO) in Beirut, Lebanon from 21-22 June 2011. The meeting was attended by representatives of the following Ministries and organizations: the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Water Resources and FAO.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Ali Alshukri, Minister of Planning and H.E. The Senior Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dr. Subhi Mansour Al-Jurneily (Chair). The meeting was opened by H.E. Dr. Ali Mournen, F AO Representative to Lebanon. A welcome address was delivered by the Head of F AO-Iraq, Dr. Fadel El-Zubi. The Minister of Planning, H.E. Mr. Ali Alshukri, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, H.E. Dr. Subhi Hamadi made opening statements.
