Workshop on ?Grape Cultivation and Cultural Practices?
Grapes cultivation has steadily increased during the past few years in several region if Saudi Arabia where the Ministry of Agriculture has strongly endorsed its cultivation and production in all adaptable areas in the Kingdom.

Almadina Almonawara, AlJouf, Tabuk/Haeel, Riyadh, Qassim, Makka Al Mukrama area/Taeef, Najran and other relatively small areas in the Kingdom are some of the main areas of production. Unlike citrus and tropical and subtropical fruit crops, appropriate technologies of grape production were very limited and not well developed in the Kingdom. Grape growers in different cultivation regions have expressed to the authorities their need for developing appropriate production technologies and extension services.

In this light the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is organizing a workshop on “Grape Cultivation and Cultural Practices” targeting grapes growers.

The workshop will be held on the 2nd of October in Madina and will benefit :

1- Farmers

2- Agriculture Engineers

The workshop will be held within the framework of the Development and Technology Transfer of the Horticultural Sector project that aims at the achievement of self-sufficiency in selected horticulture crops through increasing productivity and improving farmers’ income on a sustainable basis.
