FAO, CRC and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia assistant to Sudan
During the Desert Locust outbreak this year in Sudan, FAO’s Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in the Central Region (CRC), from its Emergency Trust Fund, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and FAO provided an assistance of USD 75,000, 400,000 and 450.000 respectively to help the Ministry of Agriculture control the Desert Locust outbreak.
This financial contribution was provided to address the immediate control needs of the locust control campaign.
This emergency assistant will therefore fill the above-mentioned gaps through the provision of the most urgent equipment’s and supplies as well as other tools required to support urgent control operations and the delivery of specific technical assistance and training to the country on various aspects of desert locust management.
