Training Workshop for Fishermen on quality standards in fish processing and distribution

High Quality standards in fish processing and distribution are key to improving the quality of the seafood production, limiting losses in the sector and most importantly, increasing marketing opportunities in both domestic and international market.
It is for this reason that some 70 fishermen from the governorates of Aden Abyan, Lahij, Taiiz, Hajjah, Hodeidah, Al mohra, Al jawf, Hadramaut and Sokatra in Yemen, were trained on fish processing and distribution. The training aimed to improve their skills and abilities to handle fish at in landing sites, how to lessen fish spoilage and quality assessment, and cleaning and disinfection and best practise in food hygiene
