National Plan of Action to support resilient livelihoods for agriculture and food and nutrition security
The National Plan encompassed short-term humanitarian relief, medium-term livelihood recovery and long-term agricultural development interventions in Yemen and took into consideration on-going interventions and development priorities set by the Government.
FAO led and coordinated the formulation of the Plan in close consultation with key local stakeholders such as the Ministries of Planning and International Co-operation (MoPIC), Agriculture and Irrigation (MoAI), Fish Wealth (MoFW) and Water and Environment (MoWE).
The Plan was the first step toward the development of a multi-donor program that the FAO called for during last Regional Conference for the Near East (February 2014) with the aim of assisting the government of Yemen in addressing food and nutrition security challenges arising from the protracted crisis.
