FAO multidisciplinary mission on the 1.5 Million Feddan wraps up its visit to Egypt
13 March 2016 / Cairo--The multidisciplinary mission of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations concluded on Thursday its visit to Egypt with a meeting with HE Ms. Sahar Nasr, minister of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting was attended by FAO Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Ahmed and in presence of the minister's assistant Mr. Shehab Marzban, the minister's senior advisor Mr. Moataz Yakan, and the minister's advisor for UN Affairs Ms. Yara Alabd.
H.E the minister of International cooperation underscored the strategic significance of the 1.5 Million Feddan Project, noting that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi inaugurated 10 thousand Feddan as a first phase in the City of Farafra in December 2015 and welcomed the collaboration with FAO.
The discussions touched on the areas of possible cooperation towards the implementation of the project as well as on the 2030 Sustainable development Agenda.
