Khartoum 28 Feb Chakib Zouaghi, Investment Officer, participated on behalf of FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa (RNE) at the 3^rd Arab Conference for Agricultural Investment (ACAI) organized by the Arab authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) in Khartoum, Sudan on 27-28 February 2017.

Over 600 participants from the region took part in the event, where FAO was engaged as an “Official Knowledge Partner”.

In his presentation entitled “Unlocking Arab investment potentialities: enablers and opportunities”, he explained the importance of adopting measures that can enable agrifood systems investments and explained the importance of adopting the Principles of Responsible Agricultural Investment under the slogan : Invest more ! invest better.

FAO’s successful participation has led to endorsing a recommendation related to adopting the RAI Principles: “point 19” where participants encourage the adoption of Responsible Agricultural Investment Principles by public and private entities at regional and national levels”.
