A team from the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is currently visiting the Sultanate to complete preparations to implement the Sustainable Development Strategy for Agricultural Sector 2040, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries is developing in collaboration with the UN body.

The team, planning to work until November 7, will gather information on agricultural areas and identify areas to be developed through direct coordination with the national team based upon the implementation of the strategy.

The visit will include meetings with the various stakeholders involved in the development of the farm sector, including both plant and animal sub-sectors, in order to discuss and analyse the current situation and develop a plan that best suits the sector.

The FAO team visited North and South Al Batinah yesterday and met with a number of specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
