FAO at HLPF 2022
New York (United States), Hybrid Event, 05/07/2022 - 15/12/2022
About the High-level Political Forum
The 2022 session of the HLPF, under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), will take place from 5 to 18 July, in New York, and will include a High-level Segment. Convening under the theme "Building back better from the coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development," the HLPF will also review in depth the progress achieved on SDGs 4, 5, 14, 15 and 17.
In 2022, FAO actively engaged in the preparatory process of the HLPF. FAO Governing Bodies and the Committee on World Food Security provided inputs to the HLPF, and FAO also participated in the Experts Group Meetings on the SDGs under review, significantly contributing to the EGMs for SDGs 14 and 15. In addition, FAO participated in the ECOSOC Coordination Segment and the 60th Session of the Commission for Social Development, including with interventions from the FAO Director-General.
