Africa’s agri-food systems must be transformed to make healthy diets more affordable

Increased investment in agriculture and agri-food systems has the potential to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, but to generate long-term, sustainable benefits, these investments must be responsible, says a new guide.

The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, QU Dongyu, today urged Foreign Affairs and Development Ministers of G20 countries to make more investments in rural areas and double down on actions to eradicate hunger and poverty.
