©FAO/Marco Longari
23 July 2015, Rome--- Syria’s food production has increased this year mainly due to excellent rains, however, it remains way below its pre-crisis levels. According to a new report published today by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the UN’s World Food Programme, the ongoing conflict continues to push more people into hunger and poverty.

Monika Tothova is an economist with FAO. In the following interview she elaborates more on the findings in this latest report. (Interview conducted by Sandra Ferrari)
