20 July 2017, Rome--- In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the main crop production for 2017 has been severely damaged by prolonged dry weather conditions, threatening food security of large part of country’s population. This is according to a new FAO update prepared in collaboration with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. The food agency warns that with expectations of reduced production of the 2017 main season crop, the situation for those affected is anticipated to further deteriorate in the 2017/18 marketing year.
