World Food Day: “Family farming: feeding the world, caring for the earth”
16 October 2014, Rome--- In 1979, World Food Day was established by FAO's Member Countries. Every year since then a theme has been chosen to focus public attention on a subject that is crucial to food security. The theme for 2014 is “Family farming: feeding the world, caring for the earth”. Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and His Excellency John Kufuor, former President of the Republic of Ghana, participated in the World Food Day ceremony as keynote speakers.
