World risks new bird flu pandemic if countries drop their guard

29 January 2013 - Between 2003 and 2011, H5N1 infected over 500 people and killed more than 300, according to the World Health Organization. Today, FAO Chief Veterinary Officer Juan Lubroth calls for continued strict vigilance and investments:“The costs – and the dangers – of not acting are just too high.”
